Description
Summary:The existence of ride-hailing services has changed the way people travel and has become an alternative public mobility option amid the conditions of existing public transportation that has not been able to provide excellent service to users. This technologybased transportation service has penetrated various parts of the city in Indonesia including Jayapura, this has an influence on the volume of vehicle movements on the road. The extent to which this ride hailing service affects travel behavior, increases traffic volume and impacts the level of road service has been the objective of this study. This study was conducted in the Jayapura area covering Jayapura City and Jayapura Regency through a field survey oriented to the data collected, namely socio-economic, movement characteristics and perceptions of ride hailing services. The method used in this study is a structural equation model to analyze changes in travel behavior due to ride hailing services, then binary logit regression analysis with the dependent variable frequency of private vehicle use after routine use of ride hailing and the dependent variable frequency of future private vehicle use and vehicle ownership plans. Then the calculation of the level of road service due to ride hailing services in existing conditions and future conditions. Overall, ride hailing has an impact on changes in travel behaviour towards the use of private vehicles by 77.58% so that there is a decrease in the use of private vehicles by 24.35% and by using road level of service analysis, the existing conditions on Jalan Koti become level A, Abepura-Nafri road becomes level B, Abepura-Sentani road only reduces the volume of traffic and Sentani road becomes level C. Furthermore, in future conditions (the next 5 years) ride hailing does not have a significant impact on the level of road service, this is due to the respondents' plans to buy private vehicles in the future so that it is predicted that it will increase the volume of vehicles by 23.83%. Factors that influence this are the ride hailing travel fare variable, the income variable that is less than 2 million, the motorbike vehicle ownership variable and the non-mandatory destination variable with ride hailing
