Summary:Abstract: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Ultrasound has been proven to predict osteoporosis. Ultrasound relatively saver to applied on human body untill certain intensity because ultrasound doesnt have ionizing effect and relatively small damage the cells. Therefore, ultrasound method can be alternative method for osteoporosis diagnose. The aims of this project are to improve ultrasound signal parameter analysis method and determine the specification needed to develop a QUS system. Ultrasound through transmission method has been used to acquire ultrasound velocity and attenuation in human calcanea. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This project using a pair immersion ultrasound transducer 1 MHz Krautkramer-Branson Type Z1N, 4001 Pulse Generator from Global Specialities Corporation, ENI Model 2100L RF Amplifier, flaw detector Krautkramer-Branson USIP 12, and digital osciloscope ETC M621. Ultrasound data analyzed using MATLAB 7.0. This project needs 16 young women for being volunteers. Their age is between 20 until 27 years old. The quality of designed method compared with fix assembled QUS GE Achilles Express which has been spreadly used in doctors or hospital. <br />
