Description
Summary:This research aims to incorporate traditional elements from Ainu culture into modern fashion design by utilizing hip-hop streetwear trend references, to create a harmonious balance between traditional cultural heritage and contemporary fashion in the fashion industry. The focus of this design is on the selection of "Sermaka Omare" ornaments and symbolism, as well as the exploration of selected textile background design techniques that will be applied to clothing. The exploration process was carried out by highlighting traditional and contemporary elements, enriching global aesthetics, and honoring the symbolic values contained in the Ainu ornaments. Four fashion products were produced by highlighting these two elements, by exploring the selected ornamental varieties and textile techniques, as well as exploring the concept and silhouette of contemporary hiphop style clothing. This research can be a lesson to contribute to the understanding of how important it is to preserve and utilize cultural heritage as a source of inspiration for today's fashion trends.
