Description
Summary:Urbanization is a significant phenomenon in Indonesia that has been ongoing since the mid-20th century and continues to increase every year. According to the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency (BPS), 54.7% of Indonesia's population resides in urban areas and continues to rise each year. BPS also estimates that the urban population will increase up to 66.6% by 2035. However, lack of urban infrastructure coupled with the increasing number of people moving to urban areas has led to the emergence of densely populated settlements. Inadequate urban infrastructure has a significant impact on access to clean water, posing a serious problem for residents in densely populated areas. In response to this issue, designing a washing device that can improve the efficiency of clean water usage has the potential to improve the quality of life for residents living in densely populated urban areas. By directly observing the daily activities of housewives in densely populated settlements, the device can be designed to meet the needs, ergonomics, and limitations of the users.
