Summary: | <p align="justify">The growth of international traveling by cruise ship represents the opportunity which must be called into service by Indonesian tourism. Bali which is represent the sojourn of international cruisers, until now Bali doesn’t have the appropriate supporting facilities. The Indonesian government later intends to make the Benoa Port as an international tourism port (turnaround cruise port). The policy of PT. (Persero) Pelabuhan Indonesia III, as the authority of Benoa Port, obliging that international tourism port must be operate without eliminating port existing activities, like container port, fish processing and channeling petroleum. Functional addition as international tourism port, considerate Port Benoa to add new function such as: hotel resort, retail, commercial, and entertainment amusement. Most uppermost issue from international tourism port scheme in Benoa Port is the sense of place. The sense of place does not only about building material or architecture style but also concerning local socio-cultural society life. The design scheme of this sense of place cover all urban design component, start from land use, mass and form of building, until supporting activity entangling local society. The sense of place will be reached by combining (symbiosis) between traditional space arrangements of Bali and the urban design theory. The symbiosis of the modern and traditional will equipping each other so that yield the efficient and integrated area urban resort at the same time own the strong Bali’s sense of place. This thesis proves that traditional space arrangements of Bali can be applied into a port area which is representing the urban area as an international tourism port.<p align="justify"> <br />
