Art as representation, Romanticism, Apollonian and Dystopian in art are the theories that base this work. The idea for this work is also based on the theory of Gregory Bateson and the book "The Language of Symmetry". Other than that, Caspar David Friedrich’s and Peter Doig’s visual perspective and creative process are studied as a reference. The figures that appear in the work act as a comparison to the proportions of the landscape which creates distance and a perception of foreignness and disharmony. This Drawing serial piece was created using soft pastels, hard pastels and charcoal as the dark color base. When drawing on paper, I use the technique of overlapping lines without rubbing with my fingers or hands. This technique and medium are the most suitable representation in describing my limitations as a human when I climbed mountains slowly–step by step. The use of paper is unfamiliar to the appreciator, which creates distance from the perception of the medium. Each work is a depiction of a different experience, but the memories form similar contemplations and awareness. Overall, the experiences during these trips became a catalyst for self-awareness and my position in the macro realm. In the end, this work made me aware that I must follow how nature desires and regulates its own laws. This helplessness became my process of learning and lowering my ego as a human. text
