One example is the kebaya janggan, which is the clothing of the courtiers (women) of Keraton Jogja. Through pattern and silhouette exploration approach, outerwear was carried out by adapting the visual elements of the janggan kebaya into an amalgamation of traditional and modernity in clothing to create something new and transformative. It is hoped that by combining deconstruction techniques with the visuals of the janggan kebaya will encourage people to reconsider the meaning .and uphold the values brought by the kebaya janggan by utilizing aesthetics and craftsmanship. text |
