Description
Summary:ABSTRACT:

A development plan of Palasah International Airport area in Kabupaten Majalengka may be leading to extremely quick developments in some sectors so that there are increased demands for water needs. Therefore, it is necessary to see alternative water resources usable for meeting basic water requirements for such an airport area as of 2043.

In the writing of thesis, the observation of water resources is conducted into surface water descending from Cipelang Watershed in 155.3 ha area. A model to be used for calculation of water available was selected among two models, FJ. Mock and NRECA, by comparing with correlation coefficient of the two models. Whereas a simulation of Water Resources Management Model (WRMM) was applied to allocating of water.

Based on the results of both model calibration for water availability on rate of flow, the values of correlation coefficients for FJ. Mock and NRECA are 0.9 and 0.8, respectively, so FJ. Mock will be used for further calculation. The availability of water in Cipelang Watershed based on the calculations are average rate of flow at 9.413 m3/s, 80% at 2.770 m3/s, and 90% at 2.179 m3/s.

The kind of water need in Cipelang Watershed consist of water for airport area (domestic, airport, industrial), water for irrigation, and water for maintenance flow. The total number of water requirements by 2005 are 1,480,489 million m3.

The increase of the coming water requirements is based on the rate of population growth around airport divided into two conditions: on operating airport / 2013, i = 5%, and after airport has been operated / 2023 and 2043, i = 3%; the magnitude of increase in operational airport water requirements, i, is varied depending on the kind of water requirements, the water requirements for industry are 10% of domestic water, and for maintenance flow are 5% of water available.
