Description
Summary:This study aims to evaluate and optimize the design and performance of the 202,4 kWp on-grid PV system in Gili Trawangan, established by PT. Len Industri (Persero) and located in West Nusa Tenggara Province. The main focus of the research includes the analysis of PV orientation, module configuration, and the PV inverter used. The current on-grid PV system has an orientation with a tilt angle of 8° and an azimuth direction of 0°. The modules used are Suntech STP 220-20/Wd with a configuration of 4 group arrays, where group arrays 1 and 2 have a capacity of 52.8 kWp consisting of 20 module in series and 12 number of strings and group array 3 and 4 have a capacity of 48.4 kWp consisting of 20 module in series and 11 number of strings. The current PV system uses one inverter. The inverter used is Leonics GTP- 512 with a capacity of 250 kVA. Data obtained from the official website of PT. Len Industri (Persero) shows that the energy output of this on-grid PV system is 296,970 kWh/year, indicating that there is room for increasing the energy output. To optimize the system, a literature study was conducted on solar radiation as well as the optimal module and inverter configuration to design a new PV system. The results of the study indicate that the optimal PV orientation is with a tilt angle of 15° and an azimuth direction of 0°. This new design still uses the Suntech STP 220-20/Wd modules but with a different configuration, namely arranged in 4 group arrays with a capacity of 50,6 kWp where each group array consists of 23 modules in series and 10 number of strings. The PV inverter used in the new design is Sineng SP-40K with a capacity of 38 kVA. The new design uses four number of inverters. The PV output energy with the new design is 330,598 kWh/year.
