The discussion encompasses the end-to-end design process of the power supply, including circuit design, component selection, PCB layout, and system testing. The goal of the design and development of this subsystem is to provide a reliable power source with good portability for the data acquisition wearable device that includes key components such as an inertia sensor and a microcontroller. The design process is done by performing theoretical calculations and analyzing the components' datasheets which are then transformed into schematic circuit drawings for PCB layout design. The implementation process is done by doing several iterations to develop a better design and component selection. The result of this power supply system development shows that the integrated circuit design that consists of a Li-Po battery, charging IC, switch, and voltage regulator manages to provide the required voltage, 3.3V, and current to operate the sensor and microcontroller for 5 hours straight while ensuring safety upon usage. text
