INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/82310 The application of structural design techniques in fashion products is commonly done, this writing aims to explore the application of wet felting structural techniques on long fibers of pineapple leaves to obtain unique characteristics.. Sheets resulting from the wet felting technique exploration are then applied in the design of artwear products inspired by the Greek god of dreams (Oneiroi), utilizing the textures and colors derived from the exploration of wet felting techniques on pineapple leaf fibers. The method employed in the design process begins with analyzing the characteristics of the three dream personifications in Greek mythology (Oneiroi). The analyzed character traits are then interpreted into the design of artwear products by applying the wet felting technique on pineapple leaf’s long fibers and using selected dyes. The visual textures resulting from the exploration of wet felting techniques on long pineapple leaf fibers and dye exploration are the main highlights of the artwear product designs. Dye exploration is conducted to achieve the impressions conveyed by the characteristics of the three personifications within Oneiroi. Applying the results of wet felting technique exploration on pineapple leaf’s long fibers to artwear product designs represents an innovation in the fashion world. The uniqueness and texture of the visual sheets resulting from the exploration of wet felting techniques on pineapple leaf’s long fibers also contribute to its novelty. text
