Description
Summary:There are four ways to promote culture based on the Law, namely Protection, Development, Utilization, and Cultural Development. Promotion of Culture by means of protection is an effort to maintain the sustainability of Culture which is carried out by means of inventory, security, maintenance, rescue, and publication. Ornamental variety can be used as a medium for inventory or publication. This was done in South Sukabumi, which has potential in culture and nature. Marked by the existence of indigenous peoples that have been going on for hundreds of years, in addition to the nature of southern Sukabumi was recognized by Unesco Global Geopark (UGG) in 2015. This research was prepared using qualitative methods through documentation analysis, literature study and exploration. In this research, the decorative variety with the image of southern Sukabumi is applied with the Slashing Technique for Interior products. Based on the results, there are three categories of decorative imagery of southern Sukabumi, namely nature, culture and artifacts. The resulting motifs applied with the slashing technique are concluded in three ways, namely stitches following the background, stitches following the motif, opposite stitches. It is hoped that this research can be an effort to promote culture by means of inventory or publication.
