Summary: | In this Final Project, sensor systems for conventional agriculture irrigation and hydroponic
agriculture dosing were developed as part of an IoT (Internet of Things) garden monitoring
and maintenance system that takes into account user requirements: easy to operate, easy to
maintain, reliable, and safe to use. The work undertaken is the next iteration of a system that
has already been developed for the demonstration garden of FKGG, a community that
accommodates forest farming communities spread at the foot of Mount Geulis. Further
development of the sensor system aims to improve sensor reliability and add safety sensors to
avoid system malfunction. The development of this system includes the process of
understanding user needs, determining specifications, designing a suitable solution,
implementing the solution, and evaluating system performance. The sensors used in the system
include a capacitive soil moisture sensor, a water discharge sensor, a tank water level sensor
(ultrasonic sensor is used), a pH sensor, and a nutrient content sensor (electrical conductivity
sensor is used). After undergoing this iteration, the water discharge and water level sensors
are ready for use, while the pH sensor and soil moisture sensor still require further calibration. |
