This Final Project aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based garden monitoring and maintenance system in the Gunung Geulis Communication Forum (FKGG) demonstration garden based on previous iterations aimed at improving the efficiency of garden management. The previous iteration had several challenges, such as dependence on internet connection, inappropriate device selection, and inefficient data communication. The focus of this Final Project is to develop a backend service that can communicate data more efficiently between hardware and applications through the cloud, as well as optimizing the backend of mobile applications. This backend service is developed using Python language on hardware and utilizes Firebase cloud service for authentication and data storage. The mobile application backend is also optimized to improve the effectiveness and security of data communication. From the results of unit tests and functional tests that have been carried out, the development of this new backend service is able to reduce the burden of data communication and centralize data access through one communication system, so that the use of cloud resources becomes more efficient. The mobile application is also more responsive and efficient due to the optimized backend. This development has improved the efficiency of FKGG's experimental farm management and made it easier for farmers to monitor and control farm conditions in real-time. text |

This Final Project is a capstone program between the Information Systems and
Technology study program and Electrical Engineering using an engineering design
approach. This Final Project aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based garden
monitoring and maintenance system in the Gunung Geulis Communication Forum
(FKGG) demonstration garden based on previous iterations aimed at improving the
efficiency of garden management. The previous iteration had several challenges, such
as dependence on internet connection, inappropriate device selection, and inefficient
data communication.
The focus of this Final Project is to develop a backend service that can communicate
data more efficiently between hardware and applications through the cloud, as well as
optimizing the backend of mobile applications. This backend service is developed using
Python language on hardware and utilizes Firebase cloud service for authentication and
data storage. The mobile application backend is also optimized to improve the
effectiveness and security of data communication.
From the results of unit tests and functional tests that have been carried out, the
development of this new backend service is able to reduce the burden of data
communication and centralize data access through one communication system, so that
the use of cloud resources becomes more efficient. The mobile application is also more
responsive and efficient due to the optimized backend. This development has improved
the efficiency of FKGG's experimental farm management and made it easier for farmers
to monitor and control farm conditions in real-time. |
