Description
Summary:The development of the pet product industry, especially cat trees, has increasingly become the focus of attention for cat owners who want furniture that not only suits the needs of their pets, but can also provide aesthetic value to the room. This research aims to design an optimal cat tree by combining the approach of analyzing the characteristics of pet cats, the needs of the owner, and the selection of materials and materials that pay attention to functionality and aesthetics. The cat characteristics analysis method involves understanding the behavior of pet cats and owners. Observations were made to identify the cat's favorite activities, such as running, climbing and scratching. In addition, cat owners are also an important factor in this design as the main target market. The result of this research is the design of a cat tree using tufting technique with the use of motifs inspired by the work of Wiener Werkstätte studio. This cat tree was created not only to meet the functional needs of cats, but also to create a product that meets the aesthetic aspects for the owner.
