A prototype hybrid vapor compression refrigeration machine with dummy evaporator and condenser has been designed and constructed to investigate influence the fluctuation of parameters to the characteristics vapor compression refrigeration machine.<p>Several alternatives refrigerant (to replacement of R-12 refrigerant) such as Hycool HCR-12 and Hycool HCR-12+',FS were used in the series of experiment to studied the characteristics of the machine. The tests were performed in the Thermodynamics Laboratory IURCES ITB.<p>Basically, this research investigate on the various of parameter. This the parameters involves the fluctuation of cooling load, the fluctuation of heating load, the variation of evaporation temperature and condensation temperature.<p>The experimental results show that the fluctuation of cooling load and heating load do not influence to the overall performance but only influence on dummies. All of this alternatives refrigerants exhibit better performance than R-12 at the predetermined operating condition and can be used as the substitutions of R-12 refrigerant. <br /> text
