The objective of this study is to evaluate the publicness level of urban Green Open Spaces (GOS) with case studies on Tebet Ecopark and Taman Lapangan Banteng. GOS play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of urban life by providing spaces for social interaction and a healthy environment. The aims of this research are to identify the indicators affecting the publicness level of GOS, assess the publicness level at the two study locations, and develop strategies to improve the effectiveness of GOS usage by the community. The methods used in this research encompass both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data were collected through surveys, interviews, and field observations. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and inferential techniques, employing the VIKOR method to identify and measure publicness indicators. The research findings indicate that factors such as accessibility, diversity of activities, safety, and comfort significantly affect the publicness level of GOS. Tebet Ecopark and Taman Lapangan Banteng exhibit different levels of publicness due to variations in management, facilities, and community participation. This study reveals that effective development strategies for enhancing the publicness of GOS include improving accessibility, diversifying activities, enhancing safety, and fostering community engagement. The innovation of this research lies in its integrative approach, combining various publicness indicators to assess GOS in urban Jakarta. This research makes a significant contribution to the literature on urban green open space management and can serve as a reference for policymakers and practitioners in developing more inclusive and sustainable GOS.
