Description
Summary:In this digital era, every internet user has many accounts that are used for various services available on the internet. Each account has various username and password pairs. The difficulty that occurs is how to remember the user's passwords. Using a password manager is a solution to overcome this problem. The increasing importance of information security in this digital era should make the adoption rate of password managers even higher. However, several scientific studies report low password manager adoption rates. This research will discuss the factors that influence users in switching to using a password manager for storing and managing passwords. This research uses a popular technology adoption framework, namely push, pull, and mooring (PPM) to examine the factors that influence user switching intention. Research analysis uses the structural equation modeling-partial least squares (SEM-PLS) method to determine the significance and impact of the factors studied. It was found that the response cost of managing password, perceived usefulness, perceived response efficacy, perceived security risk, set-up cost, and awareness had a significant effect on switching intention in using a password manager.
