The approach involves the processes of identification, of claims that Tidore Island is hypothesized as a territory of the Sultanate of Tidore by applying the cultural space methodology. The cultural space methodology is a method that provides procedures to assess the authenticity of the longstanding relationship between indigenous communities and their land based on various interconnected domains. There are three domains that serve as the basis for this research. The first domain includes social practices and objects such as folk stories, shared narratives, and archaeological artifacts reflecting the indigenous community's connection with their territory. The second domain involves Land Administration aspects, covering the territorial structure, governance structure, and land tenure system. The third domain involves the social, economic, environmental, and physical space functions of the territory for both the Sultanate of Tidore and vice versa. After the analysis, the results indicate a clear connection between the Sultanate of Tidore and its territory on Tidore Island. Moreover, the Sultanate of Tidore plays a significant role in preserving customs and traditions for the local community, particularly on Tidore Island, and contributes substantially to economic, social, and environmental aspects. text
