Description
Summary:Third spaces are spaces that are formed by spontaneous social interactions. Campus is one of the places that has the potential to create a third space. The existence of a third space on campus can be a space for students to exchange information and a place to interact with anyone. On the other hand, the third space is identical to the social issue of limited space so that the existence of this space needs to be identified to avoid negative impacts that might arise. This research aims to identify the existence of the third space as a space for social interaction at ITB Jatinangor Campus. To achieve this aim, the third space was identified through a qualitative analysis method. The analysis was carried out based on the results of a questionnaire that was conducted and then identified the third space chosen by students. The results of this study showed that there is a third space in ITB Jatinangor Campus. The campus has also provided spaces for students to be able to gather, rest, and study between lectures. The third space on campus has its own characteristics, that is the activities in it and the existence of the space is tightly related to the function of the campus as a place of teaching and learning.
