THE INFLUENCE OF INDUSTRIAL GROWTH ON URBAN DYNAMICSIN THE REBANA AREA IN 2000-2020

The result of inequality in uneven development in West Java is one of the reasons for the establishment of the action plan for the development of the CirebonPatimban-Kertajati Metropolitan Area (REBANA) which includes several districts and cities. This area is expected to increase investment and become a motor for industrial economic growth as its main activity in the east-north West Java region. Economic growth is one of the things that causes urbanization and accelerates the growth and development of cities. This research was conducted with the aim of identifying the influence of industrial growth on urban dynamics in the Rebana area from 2000 to 2020, with a focus on changes in urban dynamics described based on physical, economic, and demographic aspects as well as the development of the industrial sector as seen through changes in the GDP value of the industrial sector. In addition, changes in the area of built-up areas due to the existence of industrial designated areas in 2030 will also be explored. This research is in the scope of the Rebana Area area by using an analysis unit in the form of administrative boundaries of sub-districts in the Rebana Area using data from 2000 consisting of a total of 130 sub-districts. This study will look at the changes and developments that occurred in the Rebana area in the range of 2000 to 2020 and 2020 to 2030 for the time range of predicted area area. The data collection method is completely carried out using secondary data collection. In this research, analysis methods are used, namely descriptive statistical analysis, rate analysis, simple linear regression analysis, and spatial analysis. The results of the study show that the urban dynamics in the Rebana area have changed at a positive rate and formed a concentrated distribution in several locations such as around the northern and southern urban areas of the Rebana Area. From the results of regression analysis, the economy of the industrial sector is known to have an influence on urban dynamics in the Rebana Area. Positive growth in the industrial economy has an effect of 24.7% on the overall economic improvement and has an effect of 13.3% on the increase in the area of built-up areas, both of which are positively correlated. The results of the analysis also show a prediction of a significant increase in the area of built-up areas in 2030 with aiv difference of more than 23% when the industrial area is fully developed into an industrial area.
