Summary: | The development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has
changed the pattern of human life, including work. Changing work patterns have
driven the need for flexible workspace. New Workspace (NWS) has emerged as
flexible workspace with the concept of working in multiple locations to facilitate
social interaction, collaboration, and knowledge transfer. Forms of NWS includes
co-working space, shared office space, and coffee shop and cafe as a hybrid form
of several existing facilities. This study aims to identify potential location for NWS
Bandung City. This study use exploratory quantitative approach by analyzing the
spatial aspect of NWS provision. The mechanism for NWS provision considers the
characteristic of study area, including the proximity of NWS to facility and
residential (analyzed by closest facility analysis), the diversity of facilities around
NWS (analyzed by Shannon-Weiner Index), and accessibility to NWS (analyzed by
road network density, closest facility, and scoring analysis). The result showed that
Kelurahan Tamansari has the highest potential for NWS provision. This potential
is based on high diversity level, high proximity level, and good accessibility. This
study is expected to be an initial study for the provision of NWS in Bandung City
that can be taken into consideration for the NWS provision guideline and paying
attention to possible impacts that affect zoning regulation caused by the emergence
of NWS. |
