The average productivity of red dragon fruit is recorded 30/ton/ha/year. Red dragon fruit is a plant with high dietary fiber content, water soluble fiber, pectin. Fiber has benefits for people with constipation. This is due to its ability to absorb water and perform into bulk, so that it can affect the consistency of feces to be softer and easier to be excreted. In Indonesia, 18.3% of children 10-17 years old and 9% of adult patients reported constipation so that we need fiber. The aim of this study is to make the formulation of red dragon fruit powder instant drink, determine the swelling index of red dragon fruit to see its potential as a laxative agent and antioxidant activity. Red dragon fruit was dried using a dehydrator at 60? for 4 days and grind to be fruit powder. The selection of the formulation was determined by hedonic test. Results of the hedonic test were red dragon fruit powder (12.225g), psyllium husk (2.5g), citric acid (0.15g), and stevia (0.125g). Organoleptic evaluation of the product where the colour of dragon fruit powder was purple, the texture was powder, the aroma was fruity, and the taste was sweet-sourness. The product has moisture content (2.9%), ash content (1.27%), pH (4.7), reconstitution time (23.7s), granulometry (normally distributed), flow rate (5.09 g/s), and viscosity (1666.7 cP). The results of the swelling index is 8.67 mL/g, which means that the product has the ability to expand in water and has potential as a laxative agent. IC_50 the antioxidant test were 830 ppm. text
