Technology plays an essential role in creating competitive advantage of firm and has been applied as strategic variables to accelerate the economic and productivity growths. <br /> <br /> <br /> The purpose of this research is to measure the level of technology capabilities using technometrics (ESCAP), and competitive strategy, which is measured through manufactures competitive strategy variables and processed using the factor analysis method, whereas the business performance is measured using profit margin on sales and asset turnover. <br /> <br /> <br /> The level of technology capabilities, manufactures competitive strategy and business performance of the small metal industries is related with liner regression method. And then the result will be applied as an input to the development policy of small metal industries competencies. <br /> <br /> <br /> The research concludes about the significant in the empirically linking between technology, manufactures competitive strategy and business performance. Nevertheless, not all technology components influence significantly competitive strategy variables and not all competitive strategy variables have effect significantly on perfonnance measurement variables.
