ROS can also cause structural and/or func onal modifica ons that cannot be altered at the protein level. The an oxidants have been shown to eliminate reac ve oxygen species, both inside and outside the body. Cabbage leaves have cons tuents with an oxidant ac vity. The objec ves of this study were to test the an oxidant ac vity in the leaves of Brassica oleraceae L. from three different regions using DPPH and FRAP methods, determine total phenols, total flavonoids, the correla on of the total phenols and total flavonoids to an oxidants, correla ons of the an oxidant ac vity between the two methods and the iden fica on and detec on of the levels of the flavonoid compounds in the selected extract. Extrac on was done by reflux method using nhexane, ethyl acetate, and ethanol as solvents. The an oxidant ac vity of DPPH, FRAP, total phenols, and total flavonoids was determined by UV-visible spectrophotometry. Iden fica on and determina on of marker compound levels determined by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The an oxidant ac vity of DPPH cabbage leaves extract is in the range of 48.668-161.866 mg AEAC/g, while FRAP 3.867-55.797 mg AEAC/g. The highest total phenol was given by n-hexane cabbage leaves extract from Lembang, which was 102.075 mg GAE/g. The maximum total flavonoid was shown by ethyl acetate cabbage leaves extract from Ciater 87.237 mg QE/ g. In general, phenolic and flavonoid compounds in cabbage leaves from three regions showed greatly contributed to an oxidant ac vi es by DPPH and FRAP methods. The ethanol extract of cabbage leaves from Ciater contained ru n 0.13%. text
