This area has some natural resources like forests, land and water that are very potensial. With good management, they will give great advantages that can increase the human mankind.

The sedimentation of Lake Limboto keeps going intensively and always rises year to year. It caused superficiality and decrease the top water area. The erosion and sedimentation will go to the lake and cause the deposit and the superficiality and they will affect the lake capacity. This study is limited to the prediction of erosion and sedimentation by using GeoWEPP (Geo-spasial Water Erosion Prediction Project) model.

GeoWEPP is a continous simulation physical based model that can be used for erosion rate estimation in Limboto basin since GeoWEPP has notable advantages of capabilities to estimate spasial and temporal distribution of soil loss for entire hillslope or for each point on a slope profile on a daily, monthly, or average yearly basis. Also output results can be extrapolated into a broad range of condition. In addition, the GeoWEPP model can predict in-site and off-site effects of erosion.

The output results indicate that Limboto basin is in critical condition which erosion rate is 44.69 ton/ha/year or 3.79 mm/year. The sediment deposition per hectare of Limboto basin is 2.94 ton/halyear or 0.245 mm/year. The sediment yield per hectare of Limboto basin is 41.75 ton/halyear or 3.48 mm/year. The erosion and sedimentation of Limboto basin is presented as spasial maps. The other output parameters are presented in the form of tables in the appendix.
text
