Urban farming can also be integrated with household organic waste management by processing it into kasgot organic fertilizer with the help of black soldier fly larvae. Spinach plants are plants with good adaptability in various environments and are rich in various vitamins and fiber so they are suitable for cultivation in urban farming. This study aims to determine the effect of the composition of soil planting media, husk charcoal, and kasgot fertilizer on the growth of test plants, namely spinach (Amaranthus hybridus L.). The research was conducted using a monofactor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and 6 replications. The growth parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, wet weight, dry weight, moisture content, and shoot root ratio. The data were analyzed using the analysis of variance (ANOVA) method with a confidence level of 95% and significantly different results were further tested using the honest real difference test (BNJ/Tukey) method at the 5% level. The initial feasibility of growing spinach with kasgot fertilizer on a communal and business scale was also analyzed by calculating the cost benefit analysis. Based on cost benefit analysis, green spinach cultivation with kasgot fertilizer application has a cost benefit ratio of 2.24 which is smaller than the business scale so it is feasible to do on a communal scale. The results also showed that the application of kasgot caused significant differences in plant height, leaf area, dry weight, wet weight, and water content of green spinach plants. The P3 treatment, which is the composition of planting media 56% soil, 14% husk charcoal and 30% kasgot organic fertilizer, has a significant and positive effect in increasing plant height, leaf area, and plant wet weight. However, giving different doses of kasgot organic fertilizer did not have a significant effect on the number of leaves and shoot root ratio of green spinach plants. text |
