| Summary: | Inventory is the part of company asset in supporting company operational activities. The parts are used to maintain electric distribution line equipments and to build new distribution line in increasing new customers and sales. In electric power distribution’s company, requirements of distribution parts are very large and used for investment new distribution line and maintenance to improve distribution line performance. Inventory management intends to take the parts required for the operational of company always available so that programs which have been planned and customer services not annoyed. The parts are often not available when needed, caused by delay of parts arrived that have been ordered or demand exceeds planned leads to delay in increasing new customer process, maintenance programs and more time in repairing distribution’s line interruption leads to lost earnings and the company’s image becomes unfavourable caused by distribution’s line interruption and more time in recovery the interruption. Policy of budget’s giving to fulfill parts requirement which have been programmed not adaptif with condition in fact. Inventory management strategy formulates minimum amount of inventory (safety stock) and reorder point for the parts used for uncertainty activities (uncertainty demands) and Just In Time for the parts used for the certainty activity (project) by conducted alliance with supplier. Inventory management will make the amount of inventory more optimal, so that parts are available when needed but the amount not too much. Availability of the parts will make process of increasing new customers and interruption recovery more quickly, so that will improve earning, customer service and company performance. |
