Summary:Cidaun is known for its significant potential in iron sand research, with an estimated 3 million tons of iron sand ore that has not been detailed. This study aims to identify the magnetic susceptibility values of iron sand deposits and recognize the mineral components in the samples. The methods used include magnetic susceptibility measurements, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) at 7 sample points with 100-meter spacing (H1, H2, H4, H5, H6, V1, V2, V3). The results show a dominance of grains sized mesh 35 (58.4%) and mesh 60 (26.6%), with magnetic susceptibility ranging from 452.338 x 10^(-8) m³/kg to 26082.5 x 10-8 m³/kg, with point H6 showing the highest value. XRD and SEM analyses identified magnetite, anorthite, quartz, orthopyroxene, magnesiohornblende, ilmenite, dolomite, and pigeonite as the main minerals. These findings enhance the understanding of the characteristics of iron sand in Cidaun Beach and provide a foundation for the development of efficient mining and processing strategies.
