Abstract: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The economic crisis in Indonesia has a significant impact on development program at PT. IPTN, especially on satellite project development. All efforts have been taken by management PT IPTN to reduce the deficit of financial problems. One of the solutions was to create business diversification. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The Antariksa division is one of IPTNs divisions that have changed the status to be a strategic business unit at 1999. The business strategic proposal for SBU Antariksa was set up in strategic management, starting with evaluation the performance of SBU and following by situation analysis which includes; external and internal environment analysis, vision, mission and goal of the organization. In order to prepare the business strategic development that is acceptable to the current condition and situation, the SBU should have developed its knowledge about the future needs and demand of customers <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Base on this core competence, the SBU could develop next core competence which is in line with business strategic plan, that can create new business opportunities.
