Description
Summary:Utilization of New Renewable Energy (EBT) is one of the government's programs to transition environmentally friendly energy. One source of EBT is Solar Power Plants (PLTS). PLTS converts energy from the sun into electricity. However, system failures often occur in the PLTS energy conversion process, which can reduce the working efficiency of solar cells. One of the failures that often arises is shading conditions. Shading conditions occur when a part of the solar panel module is exposed to shadow. This research was carried out to determine how much influence shading conditions using cardboard and banana leaves as a cover have on the output power of solar cells. Actual data from the experiment were taken from normal condition and shading condition of 50% with distance variations from 0 cm, 10 cm and 20 cm. The output of actual data are current, voltage and irradiance and data is calculated to find the efficiency of each condition and be compared. The research results show that shading conditions using cardboard and banana leaves reduce the efficiency of solar modules. The efficiency of solar modules covered in cardboard paper increases as the distance between the solar module and cardboard increases, while the efficiency of solar modules covered in banana leaves decreases as the distance between the solar module and banana leaves increases. .
