FLOOD CONTROL DESIGN PLANNING IN THE BINTAN CENTER AREA, TANJUNG PINANG CITY

The rapid changes in land use are not balanced with environmental conservation efforts, causing problems in the Bintan Center area of Tanjung Pinang City, especially in the field of water resources management, such as problems with drainage systems that overflow, resulting in inundations. Therefore, this research aims to make efforts to overcome this by normalizing drainage channels so that later the channels can hold more water and prevent runoff. In this research, rainfall data was collected over a 10 year period (2010-2019) sourced from the Raja Haji Fisabilillah Meteorological Station. The rainfall data is then processed to carry out hydrological analysis to obtain rainfall values and/or planned discharge. Then a hydraulic analysis was carried out using EPA SWMM software to see the existing condition of the puddle. After that, a new drainage channel design plan is carried out using the design discharge that has been obtained. Drainage channel normalization was carried out and the best hydraulic cross-section of the channel was planned in a rectangular shape. From the analysis results, the planned height of channel A is 1.10 m and width 1.70 m with a channel discharge of 2.12 m3/s. The total budget required for planning the drainage system in the Bintan Center area of Tanjung Pinang City is IDR.660.569.837.
