This startup phenomenon has gained importance in the international economy. The global shift towards new economic concepts, the thriving startup ecosystems worldwide, and the technology development are the key factors of this transformation. The use of technology in day-to-day business operations has evolved from a trend to a strategic need in the constantly evolving startup environment. Process automation is one of the technologies that are commonly used to support business operations nowadays. Although technology provides the foundation for digital transformation, a company's ability to thrive in the digital age ultimately relies on its workforce's abilities, flexibility, and spirit of cooperation. However, even though the startup phenomenon and the trend of using automation in business processes are growing rapidly in Indonesia, where the capability of the employee plays a crucial role in operating it, so far, no research has addressed the impact of process automation and employee capability simultaneously on startups in Indonesia which provide insights for them to improve their operational efficiency. So, this research aims to fill that gap by investigating the impact of process automation and employee capability on operational efficiency at Indonesian startups, especially at enterprise startups under PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk. The population of this research is the enterprise startups under PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk, which consists of 16 companies. The data were collected using online questionnaires that were filled by employees of the observed enterprise startups. Using multiple linear regression analysis, it is known that process automation and employee capability, both individually and simultaneously, have a significant positive impact on operational efficiency with a regression equation as follows: Y = 14.514 + 0.197 X1 + 0.679 X2. The coefficient of determination (r2 ) = 0.588 means that 58.8% of the variation in operational efficiency (Y) can be explained by process automation (X1) and employee capability (X2) simultaneously, while the other 41.2% is explained by other variables that are not included in this study. A variable dimension analysis using a spider web diagram was conducted to determine the observed startup's strengths and weaknesses in each variable studied. The results show that process automation currently practiced by observed startups can be considered good. Of the four dimensions of process automation, the observed startups are weak in customer interaction and data processing and there is a big gap between these two dimensions and the other two strong dimensions of process automation, workflow and routine task automation. This suggests that they should prioritize the improvement of the two weakest dimensions before improving the other dimension to enhance operational efficiency. On the other hand, the observed startups already have excellent employee capabilities that can provide them with operational efficiency. This suggests that they need to maintain it in order to maintain their operational efficiency text
