In Indonesia, the number and percentage of the elderly population has increased significantly, which has led to the increase in the old age dependency ratio. Purwokerto is a city in Banyumas Regency which has an elderly population of 13.18%, which is relatively high compared to the number of elderly people at the provincial and national level. The elderly are individuals who need special attention, care, and support. The high elderly population should be balanced with the provision of facilities that are able to meet their needs. However, special facilities for the elderly are still difficult to find in the city, whereas the elderly need a place to interact with each other, participate in activities suitable for their age, and get the support and care they need. As a result, many elderly feel reluctant to leave their houses, which can cause various problems for the elderly such as social isolation, decreased mental health, and a decrease in overall quality of life. This is accompanied by a decline in the physical condition of the elderly along with the aging process which can hinder the elderly in their daily activities. Therefore, the elderly often require high attention and special care. Providing senior living as residential and day care facilities that are integrated with wellness, activity and healthcare services, and public space gives seniors the opportunity to meet their various needs. This facility can provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for elderly as users so that they can live active and healthy lives. The application of restorative environmental design is chosen in designing senior living with the aim of restoring and improving user’s well-being and ecological balance through more positive interactions with nature. This approach includes the application of sustainability and biophilia aspects. The biophilia refers to the users, while the sustainability refers to the environment, where both aspects influence each other and have positive impacts on each other, forming a place that is restorative and has a more holistic sustainable approach. text
