Summary: | This study evaluates the financial feasibility of transferring solar panel production
machine assets from PT LI to PT SEI, as part of PT LI's restructuring after forming
the DEFEND ID SOE holding. Two main scenarios were analyzed: scenario I
considering the asset transfer in its current condition (as is), and scenario II
considering the transfer by replacing the production machinery with the latest
technology. The research methodology included interviews with management and
technicians, and direct observation of the production process.
Financial feasibility analysis was conducted by calculating Net Present Value
(NPV), Payback Period (PP), Discounted Payback Period (DPP), Benefit-Cost
Ratio (BCR), and Modified Internal Rate of Return (MIRR). The results of scenario
research I, obtained NPV of Rp 2,762,611,238, PP 2.26 years, DPP 2.42 years,
BCR 1.27, and MIRR 24.32%. Meanwhile, scenario II shows more favourable
results with NPV of IDR 16,308,004,433, PP 2.13 years, DPP 2.25 years, BCR 2.16,
and MIRR 36.76%.
Monte Carlo simulation shows that the probability of project success in scenario II
is 62.2%, higher than in scenario I. This study concludes that the transfer of
production machinery assets is more profitable if accompanied by the replacement
of more modern production machinery (scenario II). The main recommendation for
PT SEI is to choose scenario II to accelerate return on investment and develop a
wider market, as well as conduct continuous product and market analysis to
minimize risks and maximize profits.
