Summary: | Natural Disasters in Indonesia sometimes are the result of human actions. Other than the
deteriorating of climate, natural disasters can be defined as a Natural disaster when there
are humans involved, mostly as a victim. Our capacity as human beings is to evade it when it
happens and to minimize the effect after the occurance. To minimize the effect is to handle the
situation as systematically, as effectively, and as efficiently as humanly possible. The
handling of Post-Disaster situations is highly crucial because it involves unclarity, chaos,
and mass panic. One of the first priority is to save as many lives as possible. A good and fast
control of a situation can minimize casualties.
One of the main element of Post-Disaster assesment are the SAR team. SAR’s responsibilities
includes excavating for victims and survivors, axtrications of victims and survivors, aiding
the victims and survivors, and to evacuate. The speed and response of the SAR team to arrive
on the scene is affected by a few major elements, including coordination, mobilisation and
transportation. Those factors are crucial because the SAR team are the first light of hope in
any rescue operation.
Technical or Non-Technical factors the SAR team usualy face is the mobilization of the
personell and the equipment. Problems of mobility and transportation is mainly discussed in
this Final Assignment Report. An unpredictable terrain, heavy equipments, and an unufficient
system is always the main problem. In the end, the design is an equipment carrier which can
also be used as a stretcher for human casualties. |
