The source of underground water is located in an aquifer layer, which is a layer
with rocks that have cavities capable of allowing water to pass through and also
have the ability to store water due to the impermeable nature of the rocks below
the aquifer layer. Aquifer estimation can be done using several geophysical
methods, one of which is the geoelectric resistivity method that utilizes the
physical characteristics of a material, namely specific resistance or resistivity.
Geoelectric methods can be divided into several classifications, namely modeling
dimensions and configurations used. In this study, the Wenner-Schlumberger
geoelectric method with 1-D and 2-D modeling configurations was used. The
interpretation results obtained from field measurements in the rice field of
Rancaekek, Bandung Regency, West Java, indicate the presence of a suspected
closed-type aquifer formed by types of rocks such as tuffaceous claystone,
tuffaceous sandstone, sandstone, and tuffaceous gravel. The aquifer found is
known to have its upper boundary at a depth of approximately 14 meters below
the ground surface.
