Description
Summary:Indonesia’s population is expected to grow by 1,17% recorded in 2022. This affects the capacity of the facilities provided, including the requirement for hospitals to assist public health. The public and private sectors are still building new facilities in order to make hospitals more accessible. The design of the air conditioning system is one component of design that mus be taken into account while building a hospital. This aims to provide quicker recovery, safety, and comfort to patients, medical workers and guests to the hospital. The design of this hospital air conditioning system includes cooling load estimation, selection of specifications of the equipment used, air conditioning system drawings, calculation of electrical energy consumption, and calculation of economic aspects. This air system design's main objective is to achieve an affordable value for Energy Use Intensity (EUI) and/or competitive Life Cycle Cost (LCC) value. The maximum cooling load in thishospital is 437 kW, or roughly 125 TR, with a conditioned area of 2997,43 m2. Five alternatives for the design of the air conditioning system can be selected by utilizing a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) machine and a chiller with or without a variable speed drive (VSD) consist of central system using a constant discharge 127 TR non-VSD chiller; chiller 125 TR VSD discharge change; chiller 2×66 TR non-VSD constant discharge; chiller 2×66 TR non-VSD discharge changed; and VRF systems. Out of all the system alternatives, the air conditioning system with the VRF engine has the lowest EUI value, at 130 kWh/m2/year. The LCC value for alternative systems with VRF machines for a 10-year period is Rp7.797.093.702,30 and for a 20-year period is Rp11.865.919.303,35.
