Description
Summary:This interior design research report will examine the potential of the local community in the Hinterland area of Batam City, specifically the community located in Sembulang and Rempang Cate, Galang District, Batam City. This design topic is raised with the aim to support the empowerment of communities that are relocated due to the impact of the development of Batam City. Especially in the Hinterland area, there is potential for seafront tourism with the utilization of waterfront buildings and fisheries commodities. This potential can be utilized for the development of community empowerment in the Hinterland or coastal areas of Batam City. The data collection method used is observation and qualitative approach. The approach is done by literature study of journals, observation to the field, and conducting interviews either synchronously or asynchronously to users of community activity facilities. The data that has been collected will be classified and analyzed based on categories according to their function. Then the data will be processed and compiled in the form of a qualitative descriptive report. The data and reports that have been compiled will then be used as a basis for designing public facilities, namely the Interior Design of Community Center Based on Waterfront Building as a Means of Community Empowerment in Hinterland Area Rempang Island, Batam City.
