Summary: | Ecotourism Interior Design for a Resort Hotel with a Biophilic Design Approach
on Mandalika Beach Lombok is a resort hotel design with a four-star classification
located in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone. The decision to choose
Mandalika as a location was based on its strategic location, close to Lombok
International Airport, adequate infrastructure, good and natural tourism potential,
and close to the Sade Village Tourism Village of the Sasak Tribe which tends to be
traditional. All this potential is poured into the design through the concept of
ecotourism and the biophilic design approach. One of the main potentials of
Mandalika is the Mandalika Circuit which is planned as a generator to enhance the
economy of the Mandalika region.
The use of areas that are integrated into the interior itself aims to give the
impression of comfort, relaxation, naturalness and 'one with nature' for guests who
come. This impression is achieved by applying biophilic elements through material
concepts, lighting, acoustics, ventilation and building form. The concept of water
recycling is also applied to further optimize the goal of minimizing land intervention
in the design. Not only the natural conditions, but this design also involves residents
participating in activity programs within the resort hotel as a form of implementing
the ecotourism concept. This facility will provide a special area for residents to
interact with guests and tourists who come through buying and selling transactions
for local products or by offering spa services.
This research was completed using qualitative methods. The data was collected
through literature studies, questionnaire form, and building land analysis via the
internet. Data is used as a reference foundation for design so that it can achieve the
goals as planned.
