Summary: | Adolescence is an important period for human development. During this period,
adolescents go through various types of development including physical, cognitive,
and psychosocial that impact their future selves. Positive Youth Development (PYD)
is an approach used to assist the adolescent development process. This approach
sees adolescents as individuals who have the ability, potential, and capacity to
develop optimally and contribute to the environment and society. One of the most
effective implementations of PYD is through structured voluntary activities in the
community. This is supported by the characteristics of adolescents who often spend
their free time in the community with peers who have similar interests. The Special
Region of Yogyakarta is the number 1 province chosen as a destination for
continuing education by Indonesian adolescents. This causes the number of
teenagers in Yogyakarta to consistently increase every year by both native and
immigrant adolescents. With a demographic of 859.658 adolescents in 2024 based
on BPS, a facility to support the development of adolescents in a positive way is an
important need. The interior design of Youth Center Yogyakarta is present as a
place for adolescents in the Special Region of Yogyakarta to explore, develop skills,
interests, talents, and establish positive relationships with their community. |
