Summary: | This research topic raises the theme of an airport in Tasikmalaya to be used as research
material which has urgency in terms of its passenger terminal. Wiriadinata Tasikmalaya
Airport was originally a special Indonesian Air Force training airport which was then
used as a passenger terminal for a commercial airport which was inaugurated in 2017
and stopped operating during the COVID-19 period. Then in 2023, Wiriadinata Airport
will resume operations.
The Tasikmalaya City Government continues to develop, especially in the field of
facilities and infrastructure, one of which is optimizing the function of Wiriadinata
Airport as an effort to support the economy of the surrounding community, especially
Tasikmalaya City. As time goes by, air transportation is increasingly in demand because
of its advantages in traveling quickly. In this way, it is hoped that the existence of
Wiriadinata Airport can support the accommodation needs of the surrounding
community in fulfilling their respective interests.
Airports are accommodation transportation that requires scheduled time management.
So it requires a design plan that complies with the standards and regulations of the
Minister of Transportation. Apart from that, the airport is a gateway for outsiders to
enter Tasikmalaya, as well as a symbol of the city or region, the shape of the airport
building will be a visual communication tool for outsiders to get to know the region or
identity of the City of Tasikmalaya, in this way the application of cultural elements at
the airport becomes a reference to show the potential of the City of Tasikmalaya. So, a
design is needed that can give an attractive impression to passengers before making a
trip that adapts to airport activities which have a fast time tempo. |
