IMPROVING PRODUCTION AND PRODUCTIVITY OF EDAMAME (GLYCINE MAX L. MERRILL) VAR. BIOMAX 1 THROUGH THE APPLICATION OF A COMBINATION OF CHICKEN BONE FERTILIZER AND CHICKEN MANURE

As the population grows, so does the demand for food. Green soybean, or edamame, is a high-nutrient commodity that is popular and in demand due to its rich nutritional profile and high protein content. Green soybean, or edamame, is a high-nutrient commodity that is popular and in demand due to its rich nutritional profile and high protein content. In the cultivation of edamame, phosphorus (P) is pivotal for promoting robust growth and maximizing yields. This essential nutrient is plentiful in chicken bone and manure waste, typically categorized as household and agricultural residues. This study investigates the production and productivity of edamame plants using a combination of chicken bone fertilizer and chicken manure. Edamame (Glycine max L. Merrill) var. Biomax 1 were planted in polybags and monitored weekly until harvest at 98 days old. The experimental design follows a completely randomized design with one factor: fertilizer type. Fertilizer treatments included NPK fertilizer as a control (p0), granular organic fertilizer (p1), and a blend of chicken bone fertilizer and chicken manure (p2). The results showed that the use of a mixture of chicken bone fertilizer and chicken manure significantly enhanced green soybean production, yielding 39.03 grams per plant with a productivity of 1.40 tonnes per hectare (ha). This research proves the significant difference in using a combination of chicken bone fertilizer and chicken manure fertilizer, demonstrating an increase in production and productivity as a resulf of the treatments. text
