BTS towers consume substantial electrical energy, primarily due to the continuous operation of air conditioning units needed to maintain optimal temperatures within BTS shelters. The main challenge identified is the inefficient energy usage of BTS towers, with air conditioning units consuming approximately 30-45% of the total electricity, resulting in monthly bills exceeding acceptable limits. The project aims to attain a target electricity bill of no more than the company standard of IDR 2,000,000. The research methodology involves five phases: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. The Define phase establishes project goals and scope, targeting a monthly electricity bills not exceeding the standard. In the Measure phase, data is collected and analyzed using tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Process Capability Sixpack. The Analyze phase identifies root causes of inefficiencies, primarily the suboptimal operation of air conditioning units, using techniques like the Current Reality Tree (CRT) and Pareto Chart. The Improve phase implements optimized temperature settings for air conditioners and alternative cooling technologies, focusing on mistake-proofing (Poka Yoke) to ensure sustainable improvements. The Control phase establishes monitoring and control mechanisms, including comprehensive documentation, training plans, and continuous monitoring strategies to maintain improvements. The project successfully reduced electricity consumption by optimizing temperature settings and implementing alternative cooling methods, achieving the target reduction of at least 40% of AC. The application of DMAIC effectively enhanced BTS energy efficiency, resulting in substantial cost savings and contributing to PT XYZ's sustainability goals. The project recommends continued monitoring of energy usage, periodic reviews of solution efficiency, exploration of advanced cooling technologies and renewable energy sources, and the implementation of similar projects across PT XYZ to maximize organizational benefits. text |
