Aromatherapy practice is based on the use of aromatic materials, such as natural essential oils from plants and other aroma compounds, to improve psychological conditions and stability. Regarding aromatherapy and organic materials, there is an opportunity to utilize livestock waste, specifically cow dung, to create aromatherapy products. In India, cow dung has already been processed into incense sticks or burners used in spiritual religious activities. The concept of incense in religious rituals, as a burned product, resembles aromatherapy and has the potential as a relaxation product beyond its religious context. With the aim of exploring the utilization of cow dung, the author, under the guidance of the Center for Cultural and Environmental Product Research team form ITB, explored the possibility of using it as a material for an incense burner. The result of this exploration is an aromatherapy incense burner using cow dung material." text |
