PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) is a beneficial microbe that can colonise the soil layer with functions as a biosimultant, biofertilizer, and bioprotectant. PGPR has the potential to reduce the use of chemical fertilisers and produce high-yielding, high-quality crops. Sweet corn is a strategic commodity with a total import value in Indonesia in 2020 reaching 911.194 thousand tonnes in 2021. Sweet corn stover is often neglected, even though it can be processed into fertiliser or feed so that it has economic value. In this study, sweet corn cultivation was carried out with additional PGPR inputs of various concentrations. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) and determine the concentration of PGPR that gives the best effect on root and crown biomass yield in sweet corn (Zea mays var. Sacharata). Experiments in this study were conducted in Haurngombong Village in May-September 2023 with PGPR concentration treatments: 0 g/L, 10 g/L, 20 g/L, and 30 g/L. There were 6 replicates in each treatment so there were 24 sets of experiments. The land area used in this study was 72 m2 with a spacing of 0.5 x 1 m. The implementation of the experiment followed the Sweet Corn Cultivation GAP with seed soaking at the beginning before planting and spraying with PGPR every week. The observation parameters in this study were crown fresh weight, crown dry weight, root fresh weight, root dry weight, and crown-root ratio. ANOVA and DMRT tests were conducted to analyse the data. The results of this study concluded that PGPR had a significant effect on root dry weight and PGPR 10 g/L gave the best effect on crown and root biomass in sweet corn (Zea mays var. saccharata) F1 Paragon with monoculture system. text
