The workation trend is considered to enhance mental well-being and work productivity as it can fulfill the balance between work and daily life (work-life balance). The main issue with the workation phenomenon is the increase in stress and the decrease in work performance during workation due to hotel environments that do not support the needs of working while on a workation. Therefore, the factors influencing hotel selection for workation have the potential to be fundamental considerations in creating or developing hotel room models that facilitate the needs of workation participants. Until now, it has not been determined which factors influence hotel selection based on workation preferences, making the primary focus of this research to identify these factors. In the initial stage of data collection, a qualitative approach was taken through interviews and Focus Group Discussions for initial exploration as a reference for the next stage. The next stage used a quantitative approach through the EFA (Exploratory Factor Analysis) method as the data processing and analysis technique from the results of a questionnaire conducted with 227 respondents. Based on the analysis results, eight factors were identified: hotel facility quality, desk placement orientation related to hotel room pricing, hotel room type, hotel promotions based on workation satisfaction, ventilation openings affecting hotel room acoustic quality, hotel room ambiance and security comfort, budget, and technology facilities. These factors can be considered by designers and hotel management to meet the needs of workation participants and develop the tourism industry in Indonesia. text |

The term workation, derived from the combination of work and vacation, meaning
working while on vacation, has become a trend because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The workation trend is considered to enhance mental well-being and work
productivity as it can fulfill the balance between work and daily life (work-life
balance). The main issue with the workation phenomenon is the increase in stress
and the decrease in work performance during workation due to hotel environments

factors influencing hotel selection for workation have the potential to be
fundamental considerations in creating or developing hotel room models that

which factors influence hotel selection based on workation preferences, making the
primary focus of this research to identify these factors. In the initial stage of data
collection, a qualitative approach was taken through interviews and Focus Group
Discussions for initial exploration as a reference for the next stage. The next stage
used a quantitative approach through the EFA (Exploratory Factor Analysis)
