This research focuses on the Ore Flow Maintenance Department at PT Freeport Indonesia, one of the world's leading gold mining companies, which faces significant challenges due to the impending retirement of key superintendents. The study explores the methods of capturing, storing, and transferring critical maintenance knowledge from superintendents to general foremen to ensure the continuity of best maintenance practices for crushing and conveying system. The research applies a qualitative methodology, using semi-structured interviews to gather data from both sources and recipients of knowledge transfer. The study identifies several barriers to effective knowledge transfer, including varying educational backgrounds, language difficulties, and time constraints. The analysis reveals the importance of structured training programs, regular meetings, personalized development plans, and the use of digital tools to facilitate knowledge transfer. The implementation plan outlined in this study includes key components such as establishing regular meetings, developing, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), leveraging digital tools and knowledge repositories, and addressing barriers to knowledge transfer. The plan aims to create a robust and sustainable system that supports continuous learning and operational excellence. The expected outcomes of the implementation plan include enhanced retention and dissemination of critical maintenance knowledge, improved competencies of supervisory-level staff and general foremen, and a culture of continuous learning and collaboration. By systematically managing and transferring knowledge, PT Freeport Indonesia can maintain its operational efficiency, support the professional growth of its employees, and prepare for future challenges. This study contributes to the understanding of knowledge transfer processes in a hierarchical and technical organizational context, offering practical recommendations for enhancing knowledge management practices. text
