Summary: | Knowledge becomes one of the valuable assets that can help a company gain a competitive advantage. PT. Puncak Nusa Solusi, a new entrant in the textiles and office supplies industry, faces challenges due to inadequate knowledge management. This leads to the potential loss of valuable knowledge that should be utilized, stored, and distributed to support business operations. This research assesses PT PNS's readiness to implement knowledge management for better performance. The objectives are to (1) know how KM can minimize employee turnover, and (2) understand how to implement KM at PT PNS effectively.
The study uses a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data from questionnaires distributed to 71 employees, based on the Asian Productivity Organization's and People Capability Maturity Model tools, and qualitative methods to ensure the accuracy of the findings. Results indicate that PT PNS's knowledge management maturity is at the initiation level. Five strategies for improvement are proposed: planning for KM implementation, identifying specific context elements and important indicators, creating a KM habitat with necessary infrastructure, conducting pilot testing to refine KM implementation strategies, and evaluating KM to address deficiencies and enhance future efforts.
Implementing these strategies can help PT PNS create a robust knowledge management system that supports continuous learning and adaptation. By improving how knowledge is managed, the company can reduce employee turnover and increase overall productivity and innovation. This holistic approach to knowledge management will enable PT PNS to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving industry, ensuring long-term success and sustainability.
