"Ballad of the Forgotten" is a series of drawing works that serve as a manifestation of the struggles within the author resulting from experiencing the impostor phenomenon using artistic approach such as art as form of expression, appropriation technique, and naive visual style, akin to transavanguardia works. The scope of the issue addresses why such a phenomenon occurs, how this series can serve as a form of resistance against the impostor phenomenon and reconciliation with the past, and how the art as form of expression, appropriation technique, and transavanguardia visual style can reinforce these concepts. The creation method involves the author projecting themselves as the main figurative object, appropriating visuals from popular art with theatrical and dramatic visual compositions, and using naive visual depiction and vibrant with soft pastels on canvas board. Through this series, the author hopes to resonate with audiences who share similar experiences and pave the way for reconciliation with past emotional wounds, leading to a healthier future self
